Requirements

Authica works on standard WordPress websites and does not require Cloudflare for basic login security, login customization, or most protection features.

However, for the full Authica experience, we recommend placing your website behind the Cloudflare proxy using the orange-cloud DNS setting.

Recommended: Cloudflare Proxy Enabled

For full GEO-aware functionality, your site should be connected to Cloudflare with the DNS record set to Proxied — shown as the orange cloud icon in Cloudflare DNS.

When the site is behind the Cloudflare proxy, Authica can use Cloudflare-provided request data to improve GEO-related features.

This allows Authica to:

  • Use GEO Access Control inside Turnstile & Edge Security
  • Display country codes in Activity logs
  • Show country information beside logged IP addresses
  • Improve visibility when reviewing login activity and security events

Authica works without Cloudflare, but for the full GEO-aware security experience, your site should be behind the Cloudflare proxy using the orange-cloud DNS setting.

When Cloudflare proxying is enabled, Authica can use Cloudflare country data to power GEO Access Control in Turnstile & Edge Security and display country codes in Activity logs.

If your site is not behind Cloudflare, Authica will still work normally for login protection, customization, 2FA, brute-force protection, logging, redirects, emergency lockout, and other features. However, GEO Access Control will not work, and country codes will not be visible in Activity logs.
